In Etaples Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of Major Thomas Percival Guthe, serving with the 1st (Durham) Battery Royal Field Artillery who died 13/01/1916.

Eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Guthe, of Seaton Carew, Co. Durham; husband of Vera I. Guthe, of Mill Lane, Norton, Stockton-on-Tees.

In Seaton Carew (Holy Trinity) Churchyard is a headstone which reads:-

In loving memory of
Ann
the beloved wife of
Julius Ernst Guthe
of Dinsdale Lodge Seaton Carew
and Kepwick Hall N.R. Yorkshire
Born Han. 29th 1860 died April 3rd 1917
also the above
Julius Ernst Guthe
Justice of the Peace for the County of Durham
Born Oct. 5th 1856
died June 27th 1917

Thomas Percival Guthe
Major 1st Battery Northumbrian Brigade
R.F.A. (TD) who was wounded in action
and died in hospital at Le Touquet Jan. 13th 1916
aged 32 years

Cecil Rudolph Guthe
Lieutenant, R.G.A. who died February 10th 1919
at Kepwick Hall of pneumonia contracted whilst
on service with H.M. Forces Aged 30 years
