Memorial Description

Plaque 3 feet 3 inches high x 5 feet 7 inches wide (990mm x 1.70m). There is a wide border which bears the dates and patterns of leaves with roses in the corners, carved to stand proud. The Latin quotation is in the bottom edge.
The plaque is divided into three panel each made of two strips of wood. The central panel is sub divided into a smaller panel at the top which bears the name of the school. The central panel below has names in two columns, the two outer panels bear names painted in a single column on each using Roman capitals.

1. Over 500 volunteered and 108 had fallen.

2. This memorial is now located in the Heugh Gun battery, it was given to them in early 2010 after being rescued from a skip.
