John Edward Adamson, born in West Hartlepool, was the adopted son and nephew of Stephen Adamson, of South View, South Pelaw, Chester-le-Street.
He enlisted at Sunderland. He arrived in France on the 30th August 1914.
John died on the 20th of February 1915 from wounds received in action at Cuinchy.
