On Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial is the name of 2786 Private William Nairn, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 26/04/1915.

In Amble West Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

who died at Radcliffe Feb. 2nd 1924
aged 65 years.

who was killed at St. Julian, Belgium
April 26th 1915, aged 23 years

who died at Radcliffe ? 25th ?1937
aged 67 years.

William Nairn is remembered on the Radcliffe memorial at Amble R32.01, in Ashington on A17.01 (A17.27), A17.06 and A17.43 and in the Battalion History

According to Soldiers Died in the Great War Private Nairn enlisted in Alnwick. Is he the "William Nairn" listed at Edlingahm on E17.01?
