Kane, A.G., 2nd Lieut., 1918

In Karasouli Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of Second Lieutenant Augustine George Kane, serving with the Royal Air Force who died 24/06/1918.

From an unknown sources:

"In Memoriam.
Mr. James Kane and his wife, Mary Ann, of Railway Cottages, Morpeth, received the news that confirmed the death of two of their sons. Second Lieutenant Augustine George Kane, 22 years old, was killed on 24th June 1918, whilst flying with the Royal Air Force. His brother, Lieutenant James Gabriel Kane, aged 24, was killed in action while leading his men on 22nd October 1918. Both men were attached to the South Wales Borderers."

His brother James Gabriel Kane also died.

Augustine George Kane is remembered in Morpeth on M17.01, M17.09, M17.17, M17.29 and M17.31
