On the Tyne Cot Memorial, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the name of 42479 Private Henry Charlton, serving with the 2nd Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales’s Own), who died 13/01/1918.

He was the son of the late George and Catherine Charlton, and the husband of Sarah Redhead Charlton of 17 West Green [sic], Morpeth.

Morpeth Herald 01/02/1918 carries a brief obituary:

ROLL OF HONOUR

CHARLTON.- Killed in action on the 13th of January, 1918, Henry, dearly beloved husband of Cissie Charlton, of 11 [sic] West Greens, Morpeth, and youngest son of the late George Charlton, of Carlisle House, and formerly of Collingwood Gardens, Morpeth. Deeply mourned.
