In Wimereux Communal Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 21/511 Private William Clark, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 07/07/1916.

In Preston Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

William Clark is remembered in North Shields on N34.77 Panel 8 and in Tynemouth on T36.14 page 7

There were two men called "W. Clark" and it is difficult to know which of these is named on N34.04, N34.16 and N34.30 page 5
