In Holy Trinity's churchyard is a family headstone for which reads:

Died Nov. 12th 1942
Aged 69 years.
Also of the above
Mary Ellen Bell
Died May 16th 1945
Aged 69 years.
also Alex Bowett
beloved grandson of the above
killed in action June 24th 1944
aged 20 years

Alex Bowett is remembered at Hartlepool on H115.16 and in West Hartlepool on W111.55 and on our List of Ships’ crews
