Abram, T., Dvr., 1918
In Kezelberg Cemetery, West Vlaanderens is the Commonwealth War Grave of 771728 Driver Thomas Abram serving with the Royal Field Artillery who died 07/11/1918.

Pauline Priano has submitted the following:-

Thomas Abram enlisted at Ferryhill joining the Royal Field Artillery as Driver 771728, “C” Battery, 187th Brigade, attached to the 41st Division.

May 1st 1916 the 187th Brigade entrained in Aldershot, bound for Southampton and embarked for La Havre, arriving the following day and by May 3rd had reached Hazelbrouek where they were billeted and subsequently occupied the front line Hazelbrouek and Balleul. They participated in many major battles on the Western Front including the Somme until October 1917. November 7th 1917 they were transferred to northern Italy where they remained until February 28th 1918. They were congregated at Campo San Piero to be transferred once again to France near Douliens and Mondicourt. They were deployed in the battles of St Quentin, Bapaume, Arras, Lys, The Advance in Flanders, Battle of Ypres, Courtral and Ooteghem. Driver 771728 Thomas Abram, Royal Field Artillery was wounded and taken to the 64th Casualty Clearing Station, where he died of his wounds, November 7th 1918. He is interred in Kezelberg Cemetery, West Vlaanderens, 19 kilometres from Ypres, Belgium, grave I D 9.

Thomas does not appear to have had any close family. His separation allowance and pay were sent to his nominated sole legitimate beneficiary John W. Dixon.
