Memorial Description
Series of 20 brass panels along the wall. Names are listed in two columns on each, the lettering being elongated sans serif capitals throughout. Beneath them is a long oak plaque bearing the dedication, the lettering gilded using sans serif capitals.

Notes
1. Over 3,000 men from South Tyneside served with the Merchant Navy in 1939-45.
2. Each panel is 30 inches (912mm) X 12 inches (304mm) wide set into wooden frames.
3. The list of names are not complete, there are names not listed.
