Memorial Description

Book of Remembrance in red leather cover on which the title is in gilded letters with a plain gilded line round the edge.
The first page is a painting of the memorial chapel window with the details of the dedication.
Each name has its own page.
The book has been calligraphed.

1. “For the 1939-45 World War there is a Book of Remembrance in the Lady Chapel, which, in memory of Helena Rose Duncombe Shafto, was dedicated by the Bishop of Jarrow, Colin Dunlop, on Sunday 13th June 1948. The book was made by Cecil Ross Wheatley in memory of Basil Robinson.” (Church Guide)
