In St. John's Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 3776506 Private Sidney Watson, serving with The King's Regiment (Liverpool) who died 05/11/1940.

The headstone reads:

In loving memory of
Sidney Watson
My dear husband
Who was killed whist on Army Duty
5th November 1940 – aged 24 years.
To live in hearts
We leave behind is not to die.
