In St. John's Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 10602018 Thomas Hilton Hume Sinclair, serving with the Reconnaissance Corps who died 13/02/1943.

The headstone reads:

Sacred to the memory of
Tpr. Thos. Hilton Home
beloved 2nd son of Thos. & Elis. Sinclair
died Feb. 13th 1943 aged 20 years,
while serving with 52L Div.
Recce Corps Home Forces.
At rest.
