Royal Air Force
13th June 1944 age 21

Simon Glancey has provided the following:

Pilot Officer Morton was killed when Avro Anson I EG223 of 1 A.F.U. (Advanced Flying Unit) flew into high ground on North Barrule on the Isle of Man. The Anson was on a NAVEX (Navigational Exercise) on the night of June 12th/13th. Four of the crew, including P/O Morton, were killed in the accident, the only survivor dying the next day of his injuries.
