On the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France, is the name of 6202 Private James Coppin, serving with the 11th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 07/07/1916.

Morpeth Herald 25/08/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Private J.H. Choppin [sic], N.F., Choppington, killed.

And

ROLL OF HONOUR

COPPIN.- Killed in action, 7th July, 1916, Private James A. [sic] Coppin, 11th Batt., N.F., aged 21 years, the dearly beloved son of George and Elizabeth Coppin, of Rutherford Street, Guide Post, Choppington.- Deeply mourned by his loving father, mother, sisters and brothers, and all who knew him.

He is remembered at Bedlington as Coppin J. on B15.06 and at Choppington as Coppin, J.H. on C36.01 and C36.02
