In Hooge Crater Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 36857 Private James Lee, serving with the East Yorkshire Regiment who died 04/10/1917.

In St.Aidan’s Church is a headstone which reads:

In
Loving Memory
of
Mary Whitehead
who died at New Shoreston
March 8th 1921 aged 77 years
Also James Lee, her grandson,
who fell in action Oct. 4. 1917
aged 20 years
Interred in Hooge Crater Cemetery,
France.

His story has been researched by the Belford Museum and is attached below.
