He was the son of Robert and Mary Oliver, of 27, Scott Street, Amble.

Morpeth Herald 05/04/1918 carries a brief obituary:

Private [sic] Oliver, son of Mr and Mrs Oliver, of Scott Street, Amble, has been killed.

He is remembered in Amble on A13.01, A13.07 and A13.09 and in the Alnwick Gazette Almanack page 43
