In Newcastle (St. John Westgate & Elswick) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

died 8th Dec. 1875, aged 72
also of Jane, his wife
died 18th March 1878

(of Sunderland)
Died 15th Dec. 1909, aged 60
and youngest daughter
Frances
died 15th Dec. 1919.

James Neal Calvert
(London Rifle Brigade)
who died of wounds in France
24th July1916, aged 19
and of
Wallace Melvin Calvert
(Imperial Camel Corps), killed in action, Palestine
1st May 1918, aged 27
only sons of
James Taylor and Annie Calvert
and the above Annie Calvert
died February 10th, 1950, aged 88.

Wallace Melvyn was born at Sunderland, the older brother of James Neal Calvert. According to the 1911 Census he lived in Preston.

He enlisted in London and served with the Imperial Camel Corps and was formerly 1987, Private, Buckinghamshire Hussars and 205639, Private, Corps of Hussars .
