Rev. John McNeil

Rev. John McNeil was born 31st March 1874 at Glasgow. He became minister at Arthur's Hill Prebyterian Church in January 1915. Previously he had been at Airdrie Scotland.

Rev. McNeil went to France as an Army Chaplain under the auspices of the Y.M.C.A. in August 1917.

He died at the 3rd General Military Hospital Wandsworth London September 27th 1917.

During his ministry at Arthur's Hill he made many friends who will deeply mourn his loss. Mr McNeil leaves a widow and two children. The interment will take place at Glasgow.

Arthur's Hill Presbyterian Church was filled last night with a large congregation, when there was a memorial service for the late Rev. John McNeil who for two and a half years was minister of the church and who died last week on his return from ministerial work in France.

Rev McNeil is remembered on Elswick E35.14 E35.35 and Fenham F31.29
