Memorial Description

Stained glass window of five lights which portrays “a wounded soldier attended by the angels of peace and youth. In the background is the figure of Christ.” The picture extends across all five lights. The dedication is in a scroll-shaped panel at the bottom of the centre light. Four other scrolls, one at the bottom of each light, bear the names in a single column on each. All lettering is in Roman capitals.

Designer - Mr. Victor N. Rainbird of Reed, Millican; made by Messrs. Reed, Millican & Co., Newcastle.

Notes

1. “The general idea (of the design of the window) is to harmoniously reflect the lessons of the war, the sacrifice of the soldiers, the thought of purity, and the abiding presence of the Saviour, all of which are effectively symbolized in the picture”.
