On the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the name of 6083 Private Robert Dockeray, serving with “C” Sqdn. 17th Lancers (Duke of Cambridge’s Own) attd. 2nd Life Guards, who died 31/10/1914.

Morpeth Herald 21/04/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Trooper Robert Dockeray, Lancers, husband of Mrs E. Dockeray, Ashburton Terrace, Gosforth, has been killed in action. He leaves a widow and three children.

He is remembered at Gosforth on G9.21 and G9.22
