Obituary
Captain A.H. Williamson
Captaib Adolphus Hudlestone Williamson, R.N., M.V.O., C.M.G., has died in the Military Hospital at Great Yarmouth. captain Williamson was the son of the late Sir Hedworth Williamson, Bart., of Whitburn Hall and brother and heir-presumptive of the present baronet. He was born on July 5th 1869 and was unmarried. From 1908 to 1910 he was the Naval Attache at Rome. During the war he took part in the coastal operations by His majesty's ships against German east Africa and when in command of H.M.S. Vengeance performed meritorious services which led to his having conferred upon him the C.M.G. From the official description of the services which gained the gallant captain his honour it appears that he was in command of the organisation of landing parties in the coastal operations and the shooting of the Vengeance was remarkably accurate and contributed to the success of the operation. Captain Williamson was afterwards in command of H.M.S. Berwick and last in command of H.M.S. Canada. He was invalided home three months ago with a nervous breakdown, and he was doing well until Saturday when pneumonia supervened and caused his death on the following day. The funeral will take place at Whitburn on Friday at 2 o'clock

There is not a CWGC entry for Captain Williamson.

Adolphus Hudlestone Williamson is remembered at Whitburn on W100.01, W100.02, W100.03 and W100.04
