On Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the name of 13284 Private Hubert Farrar serving with the 2nd Battalion Durham Light Infantry who died 09/08/1915.

Son of James and M. A. Farrar, of 4, Mill Lane, Marsden, South Shields.

In Whitburn Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:-

In loving memory of
Margaret A. beloved wife of James Farrar
died Nov. 14th 1927 aged 67 years
Also the above James Farrar
died Nov. 10th 1942 aged 78 years
Hubert their son
Killed in France Aug. 9th 1915 aged 18 years

Hubert Farrar is remembered at Marsden on M52.05 and at Whitburn on W100.01 and W100.04
