Charles Hutton Kane is from the same family as George Hutton Kane and Walter Kane.
Charles Hutton Kane was a fireman and trimmer on board the S.S. Radhurst (formerly called the Sava). On February 20th 1943 she was torpedoed by U-Boat 525, commanded by Korvettenkapitän Hans-Joachim Drewitz, after being a straggler from convoy ONS 165. All 38 crew were lost as the ship sunk in less than three minutes.
