Kane, G.H., Greaser, 1942
On the Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Greaser George Hutton Kane, serving with the Merchant Navy who died 24/05/1942.

George Hutton Kane was a crew member of the S S Zurichmoor, the vessel was hit by a torpedo from U-Boat U-432 on the 23rd May, the day before Mr. Kane died. No trace of the ship or crew were ever found.

George Hutton Kane was from the same family as Charles Hutton Kane and Walter Kane.

George Hutton Kane is remembered at Newcastle on NUT136 and at Westoe in W101.08 page 45, also in our Ships' crew list.
