In St.Cuthbert's Churchyard is a family headstone for Byrom which reads:
Sacred to the memory of a dear husband Michael Hall Byrom who died 15th May 1940 aged 57 years, also our dear son Pte. Albert Bolam Byrom, D.L.I. killed in action in France 10th June 1944 aged 24 years, also Margaret Jane wife of the above Michael Hall died 14th November 1957 aged 62 years - Death divides memory clings
