Rutter- In loving memory of our dear son, Pioneer Sidney Roe Rutter, Z. Company, Royal Engineers, killed in action 6th May 1917.

We cannot bend beside the grave
He lies beyond the sea.
And not one whispered little wave
Will tell the place to me.
But though unseen by human eye,
And mortals know it not,
His Master knoweth where he lies, And angels guard the spot.
Do not ask us if we miss him
There is still his vacant place;
Can we e’er forget his footsteps
Or his dear familiar face?Ever remembered and sadly missed by his loving father, mother, brothers and sister, Allendale House, Evenwood.

Rutter- In ever loving memory of Pioneer Sidney Joe Rutter, killed in action 6th May, 1917.

Dearer to memory than words can tell,
Are the thoughts of one we loved so well.
Ever remembered by Beattie.

He is remembered in Evenwood on E69.01 and E69.02
