In Villers-en-Cauchies Communal Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 35716 Private Abraham Meek serving with the Duke of Wellington's West Riding Regiment who died 2010/1918.

In Houghton Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

In loving memory of
Robert,
dearly beloved husband of
Isabella Meek
of Sixth Pit,
who died 1st Sept. 1929
aged 70 years.
also the above
Isabella Meek
who died 3rd Dec. 1943
aged 74 years.
Also of their sons
William, killed in action
3th Sept. 1918 aged 29 years.
Abraham killed in action
20th Oct. 1918 aged 25 years.

Soldiers died in the Great War states that he enlisted at Chester-le-Street and lived at Fence Houses.

Abraham Meek's brother William also died in 1918.

Abraham Meek is remembered at Great Lumley on G50.01 and G50.02
