In Whickham Garden House Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:-
in loving memory of
Robert
beloved husband of Margaret H. Scott
who died 27th September 1939 aged 75 years
Also Frederick Ernest
beloved son of the above who died at Abbeville
France 24th October 1918 aged 24 years
Robert Norman dearly beloved husband of Louise I. Scott
and son of the above killed at sea through enemy
action November 13th 1940 aged 37 years
Frederick was Assistant Scoutmaster with the 24th Gateshead (Baptist) Troop. He died of pneumonia whilst on active service.
Frederick Ernest Scott is remembered in Dunston on D38.02 in Dunston Hill on D31.01 and on D31.05 and in Gateshead G39.030
