Notes

1. The building in Renfrew Street was condemned and St John Ambulance then moved to St Nicholas Church Hall at the top of Dunston near to the war memorial. When the division closed at Dunston the members and memorabilia including the memorial transferred to Crawcrook. The brass plaque is now situated within the HQ at 9 - 11 Main St Crawcrook Ryton NE40 4TX.

2. There seems to have been a wooden duplicate of this memorial, presented by Albert R. Porter, which was placed in Christ Church until the church was demolished, referenced by us as D38.03 and now removed from the website. In November 2008, nothing is known of this plaque. Any information would be welcome.

3. The Northern Echo states that this memorial was unveiled in Dunston Church.
