John Penman

On the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium, is the name of 1697 Private John G. Penman serving with the 1st/6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry who died 26/04/1915.

John was the son of Eli and Isabella Penman, of 5, Bridge End, South Church, Bishop Auckland. He was aged 19 years when he died.

John G. Penman is remembered at South Church on S144.01, S144.05 and Bishop Auckland B140.12 and B140.27 part 1

He is also remembered in The DLI Book of Remembrance page 99
