On the Runnymede Memorial is the name of 1595841 Leading Aircraftman William Edward Jackson, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 26/02/1947.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

L.A.C. Jackson was killed when Douglas Dakota KK120 of 48 Squadron was lost without trace on a flight from Singapore to Saigon.

Also killed in the same incident was W.Off. J. Bell, DFM.

He is remembered in Bishop Auckland on B140.03, B140.04 and B140.12 page 31
