McGeoghegan, J., Pte., 1917

Blaydon Courier 17/04/1920

In Boulogne Eastern Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 12030 Private John McGeoghegan, serving with 18th (Queen Mary's Own) Hussars who died 14/04/1917.

The Blaydon Courier 17/04/1920 carries an In Memoriam notice which reads:

"In loving memory of Trooper John McGeoghegan Q.M.O., 18th Hussars, who died of wounds in France, April 14th 1917. All you had you gave to save mankind. Yourself you scorned to save. Lovingly remembered by his brother Hugh, sister-in-law and niece Una."

He is remembered at Blackhill on B145.01 and at Consett on C101.01
