Unveiled Sunday, 4th November 1923 by Very Rev. Austin Magill, one of the original members of the Tyneside Irish Brigade Committee.

Memorial Description

Painting - a copy of Rubens' "Descent from the Cross". The picture is 8 feet 3 inches x 5 feet 9 inches and forms the altar piece.
The names are painted in letters of gold on the central panel of a triptych, 41 inches high x 44 inches wide, in fumed oak, using sans serif upper and lower case letters. The two outer panels carry prayers.

Tablet of fumed oak.

Left hand panel
