Tyne Dock offices, in entrance under the stairwell in Navigation House at Tyne Dock and can be seen when entering the building.

a. Unveiled May 1923 by Sir Alfred M.Palmer, Bart., Chairman of Board.
b. Unveiled 9th Feb. 1949 by Mr W.A.Souter, Chairman of Board.

Memorial Description

Plaque approx. 1.82m (6 feet) high x 1.52m (5 feet) wide. There is a pediment with half-pillars at the sides carved with a column with leaves twining up. Beneath the pediment are four shields in colour bearing different coats of arms.
The dedication is carried on a panel across the whole width.
Below this are three sunken panels bearing the names from 1914-18 in a single column on each.
Below another single panel has been inserted on which are the names from 1939-45 in three columns.

Notes

1. 99 men from the Commissioners office and clerical staff enlisted, which was 77%. From the employees, 298 enlisted, which was 46 %. 15 of the clerical staff and 41 employees fell. 15 men won decorations.
