Unveiled July 20th 1917 by Mrs. C.W.C. Henderson. Dedicated by the Rector, Canon E. Sidney Savage, M.A.
Memorial Description
Shrine, which had a wood frame containing the Roll of Honour of those who "died gloriously in the field of battle, giving their lives in the service of their Country".
Above this was a Crucifix with a gabled roof to provide protection.

1. Miss Calcutt, of Carntyne, added more names as they were received.
2. This shrine presumably was rendered obsolete when the main memorial cross was erected in the Abbey grounds

3. The wall still shows the locations of the fixings of the shrine.
