Memorial Description
Plaque, 31cm high x 46cm wide and, mounted in a plain wood frame. A single line border frames the lettering which is in sans serif and Roman capitals.

Great European War 1914-1919,
laid down his life for his country
at Arras, on August 24th 1918.
This tablet was erected by
members of the church and congregation.

Good, but poor quality brass.
Notes
1. The plaque is on the back (west) wall of the present church hall, opened on 26th January 1905. The hall was used as the United Methodist church building from then until the present church alongside was opened on 20th February 1936.
2. The plaque was not moved into the new church. It was left in the hall at the request of the family because that was the building known by John Kirkland.
