Memorial Description

Bookcase with tracery in half relief on the main outer upper panel. At centre top is the Royal Corps of Signals badge in full colour in half relief. Below this is the dedication incised in gilded using Roman capitals. Beneath the dedication is a small square cartouche with the initials “T.T.” raised in half relief.
Below this is the recess for the Book of Remembrance.

This bookcase is given
in proud memory of
the men of the
Royal Corps of Signals
who served with the
50th (Northumbrian) Infantry
Division Signal Regiment
(Territorial Army)
during the World War
1939-1945
and gave their lives in
the cause of freedom.


Small plate at bottom:
This memorial was unveiled and the Roll of Honour handed over for safekeeping by H.R.H. the Princess Royal C.I., G.C.V.O., G.B.E., R.R.C., T.D., D.C.L., Ll.D., Col. in Chief of the Royal Corps of Signals on 26th October 1952.
