Memorial Description

Plaque with gable roof, 28 ins high x 10 ins wide (711mm x 254mm). It is comprised of a wood frame on which are set three different items.
At centre top is a plaque bearing names. It has a red cross at the top with the words “Roll of Honour” and the quotation underneath. The names listed in a single column below, with the inscription at the bottom. Lettering is Old English through, with the names having red initials. The exhortation at the bottom is in Roman italics.
In the centre is a page 12 ins high x 10 ins wide (304mm x 254mm) from a book giving details of the fallen from 1914-18.
At the bottom is a page 7½ ins high x 9½ ins wide 190mm x 240mm) giving details of the fallen from 1939-45.

Inscription

For God, King and Country. Roll of Honour. “Greater love hath no man than this, the a man / lay down his life for his friends.” In gratitude remember and pray for the souls / of the brave and great men who have died for you / on sea and land, that God will grant them Mercy / Light, Rest and Peace.
