1. The idea for the Roll of Honour came from Mrs. John Atkinson, wife of a private at the front, who originated the idea and carried it through.

2. Hedley Street lay between Morton and Fort streets on Lawe Top.

3. The name Gudgeon has the wrong initial showing. It should read R. not a W. See Every Name a Story

4. Gunner Smith had been awarded the Military Medal.
