1. Page 98 of the same magazine includes the following including a photograph:
Second-Lieutenant George William Taylor, of the 733rd Labour Company (on October 1st, 1917. Deceased was 21 years of age and was an engineer by trade. Immediately on the outbreak of war, although under 18 years of age, he joined the 6th Northumberland Fusiliers (Territorials), and was sent to France in April, 1915. He sustained wounds in the knee from which he lay 22 weeks in hospital, and on his recovery was pronounced unfit for the firing line. He was afterwards gazetted as second-lieutenant and transferred to a Labour Company. An Old Boy of the Municipal High School he was a member of the school football team, and attained some prominence in football circles. He was a son of Mr. George Taylor, 7 Cleveland Terrace, North Shields, head account clerk at the Pontoons Department (formerly a Captain of the Westoe Rugby Football Club). late of the Northumberland Fusiliers), was accidentally killed in France.
