In Holy Trinity Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 31529 Private William Scorer serving with the 6th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment who died 05/11/1918.

The headstone reads:

In loving memory of
their comrade Pte: William Scorer
No. 31529 6th Lincoln Regt.,
Beloved son of George and Annie Scorer,
of 10 Burn Street, West Cornforth,
who died in Lansdowne Road Hospital, Cardiff,
November 5th 1918, from wounds and pneumonia,
aged 20 years and 10 months.

"Thy will be done".

Erected by the Officials and Workmen of
Thrislington Coke and By-Product Works.
