On the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the name of 1457 Private James Tait, serving with the 1/7th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 26/04/1915.

His story is told in Hardy, J.H., “By the green of the spring”: A tribute to the men of Chevington & Broomhill who served in the First World War, Amble Social History Group, [N.D.], page 60.

He is remembered at Chevington on C27.01 and C27.02 and at East Chevington on E7.01
