Edwards, T., Pte., 29/75, 1917
On the Arras Memorial, Pas de Calais, France, is the name of 29/75 Private Thomas Edwards, serving with the 22nd (Tyneside Scottish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 05/06/1917.

He was the son of Stephen Edwards, of 80, Hedgehope Terrace, Chevington Drift, and the husband of Mary Ann Edwards, of 49 Chevington Crescent, Red Row.

Morpeth Herald 05/04/1918 carries a brief obituary:
ROLL OF HONOUR
EDWARDS.- Missing since June 5th, now presumed killed, Private Thomas Edwards, No.75 Tyneside Scottish, aged 26 years, beloved husband of Mary Ann Edwards, of Chevington Drift, and only son of Mr Stephen Edwards and the late Sarah Jane Edwards.- Deeply mourned by his loving wife Mary Ann Edwards, and his little daughter, Sarah Ann, and little son, Stephen, and his only sister, June.

Thomas Edwards is remembered at Chevington on C27.01 and C27.02 and at East Chevington on E7.01 and E7.02 where his regiment initials are H.S. presumably a mistake for T.S.
