In Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-l’Abbe, Somme, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 24/1430 Private Arthur McAvoy, serving with the 24th (Tyneside Irish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 02/07/1916.

Morpeth Herald 25/08/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Mr and Mrs McAvoy, of 11 North Terrace, Wideopen, have received news that their son, Pte. A[rthur] McAvoy, N.F., has died from wounds in France.
