Pattie, G.L., A/Smn., 1915
In Alexandria (Chatby) Military and War Memorial Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of KP/288 Able Seaman George Lyall Pattie, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 19/05/1915.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

George was born on 10th January 1893. He was working as a railway guard living with his father, John at 35, Brunton Street, Percy Main when he enlisted in the Northumberland Fusiliers on 5th September 1914.

He transferred to the RNVR on 10th September 1914 and joined the Drake Battalion on 3rd November 1914.

George died from the effects of a gun shot wound to the head in the 15th General Hospital, Alexandria on 19th May 1915.

George Lyall Pattie is remembered in Backworth on B1.03 page 3, in Percy Main on P22.01 and in Tynemouth on T36.14 page 21.
