Tony Hibberd has provided the following:
Halifax LV955 DT-G had departed Foulsham at 2007 for Ops Bomber Support on 03/03/45
On its return, it was intercepted by a Luftwaffe Intruder, hit and seriously damaged
One member of the crew bailed out before the Ju88 returned for a second attack
The aircraft crashed at Ainsley’s Farm, Fulmoldeston, 4miles ENE OF Fakenham at 0059
Two injured members of the crew were dragged clear by Rescuers. Five crew were killed
This was one of the many losses incurred by Bomber Command during the Luftwaffe’s infamous Unternehmen Gisela, where dozens of enemy Intruders infiltrated the Main Force Bomber Stream returning home from Ops Kamen and inflicted serious losses down the entire East Coast of England
