In Tynemouth (Preston) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

In memoriam
Euphemia Huitson
who died 28 Jan 1949 aged 85 yrs.
Also her husband
Robert Huitson
lost at Sea 28 Jan 1905 aged 39 yrs.
And of their eldest son
John Huitson
died in Germany of wounds received
in action 2 Sept. 1917 aged 22 yrs.

He is remembered in North Shields on N34.22 and N34.36, in Tynemouth on T36.14 page 14 and in the Battalion History page 245
