In Tynemouth (Preston) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

Sacred to the memory of
Nelson, beloved husband of Julia A.D. Gray
died 22nd April 1943 aged 69 years.
Alfred Robertson Gray their youngest son
died on active service M.E.F.
11th May 1943 aged 34 years.
Julia A.D. Gray, dear wife of the above Nelson
died 21st Sept. 1956 aged 75 years.

He is remembered in Westoe on W101.08 page 32
