On the Helles Memorial is the name of Tyneside Z/1101 Able Seaman Victor Henderson, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 04/06/1915.

Colin Boyd has submitted the following:

Victor was born on the 19th December 1880 and was working as a miner living with his friend, Mrs. Ellen Palmer at 28, Brookland Terrace, New York, Northumberland when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 5th November 1914.

He joined the 4th Platoon, 'B' Company of the Collingwood Battalion and was reported as missing assumed killed in action in Gallipoli on the 4th June 1915.

Victor Henderson is remembered in New York on N53.02 and N53.03
